Skin Peel Treatments

TCA peel in Tunbridge Wells, Kent

What is a TCA peel?

A TCA (trichloroacetic acid) is a medium depth facial peel, it chemically exfoliates the skin. The solution used penetrates to a greater depth than the complex AHA formulas. This allows a faster action, and results in mild skin peeling around 3-days after the treatment. We have chosen to use Skin Tech’s “Easy Peel” system, as it has a long track record, produces reliable and predictable results, and most importantly, has an excellent safety record.

What are the benefits?

Medium peels are suggested for more significant skin damage and for those wanting to improve the overall quality of their skin.

Benefits include:

  • Reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.
  • Can tighten skin
  • Improvement in skin texture.
  • Treatment of acne scars and sun damage.
  • Potent and longer-lasting results compared to other chemical peels.

A course of facial peel treatments will improve the appearance and health of your skin by increasing cellular turnover and nourishing the skin for a fresher, healthier complexion. You will see the results after the first treatment and our treatments can usually be performed within an hour.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

How long does it take?

A TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) peel appointment typically takes between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the treatment area and strength of the peel.

Your practitioner will assess your skin and recommend the most suitable treatment approach during consultation.

2

Do I need to do anything before my appointment?

You may be advised to prepare your skin using specific skincare products before treatment and to avoid excessive sun exposure.

Following your preparation instructions carefully can help improve both safety and results.

3

What is the recovery period?

Recovery varies according to the strength of the peel. Most patients experience redness, tightness and visible peeling during the first week.

The skin gradually heals to reveal a fresher, smoother complexion.

4

What about further treatments?

Some patients achieve excellent results with a single treatment, while others benefit from a series of peels depending on their skin concerns.

Your practitioner will advise on the most appropriate treatment schedule.

5

What skin concerns can a TCA peel treat?

TCA peels are commonly used to improve pigmentation, sun damage, acne scarring, fine lines and uneven skin texture.

The treatment can also help improve overall skin clarity and brightness.

6

When will I see results?

As peeling resolves and new skin emerges, patients often notice improvements in tone, texture and radiance.

Results continue to develop as the skin remodels and regenerates.

7

Is a TCA peel painful?

Patients often experience a temporary stinging or warming sensation during treatment.

The intensity varies depending on the strength of the peel, but discomfort is generally short-lived.

8

Am I suitable for a TCA peel?
