Gynaecomastia is male chest or breast enlargement. There is an excess of glandular breast tissue and/or fatty tissue on one or both sides of the chest. Whilst frequently no medical cause is behind this, some gynaecomastia can be due to excess weight, some medications, anabolic steroid use, some recreational drugs, testicular and pituitary tumours.
Reduction of excess male breast tissue usually via a discrete incision under the nipple. Both fatty and glandular excess tissue are reduced, and the chest is reshaped

Surgery usually takes between two and three hours.
For a Gynaecomastia , it takes 4-6 weeks to recover, but no exercise is recommended for 6 weeks after surgery. Most people are able to return to light duties at work at 2-weeks, but if you can take longer off work, it is helpful.
