We are delighted to be back with our ever-popular annual breast awareness event. On Tuesday 15thOctober 2019, at CrippsPG (22 Mount Ephraim) in Tunbridge Wells, we will have our three expert consultant surgeons discussing a range of important topics every woman should know.
Consultant Plastic Surgeons Marc Pacifico and Nora Nugent, with guest speaker, Consultant Breast Surgeon Haresh Devalia will explain about breast cancer – what to look for, how to examine your breasts and what to do if you find something. They will then take you through the possible reconstructive options available before touching on the topic of restorative breast surgery – surgery after losing weight, childbirth, and addressing developmental breast issues.
We are especially proud to have teamed up with Restore, an inspirational breast reconstruction charity, with a focus on educating women about breast reconstruction and the options available to them. They hold educational “show and tell” seminars . As the team at Restore have said: “Having gone through breast reconstruction ourselves we wanted to help women going through breast cancer and breast reconstruction by sharing our own reconstruction journeys and experiences.”
This year there will also be a short talk on how nipples are reconstructed and tattooed in addition to our fabulous live models. There will be a demonstration of how to examine your breasts, led by Mr Devalia. We will also hear from a breast cancer survivor who will talk through her journey, her reconstruction and the emotional impact of the whole experience.
The event starts at 7.30pm and usually runs until around 9pm. Please come and join us – we would love to see you there!
